BRIDGES PROGRAM

FOSTER PARENTS * CARE GIVERS * PROCTORS

At New Directions, we offer services that contribute to the well being of children, youth, adults, families and their community. New Directions’ values are integrity in all we do; honoring the strengths of people and community; holism including emotional, spiritual, physical, intellectual, environmental and cultural; respect for all people.

The Bridges Program is a long term residential program for children, youth, and adults with disabilities; one of the many programs offered by New Directions. Bridges is now accepting applications for Foster Parents who are interested in having individuals with disabilities live with them in their home. These individuals may also have medical, mobility, mental health and or behavioral issues.

Successful applicants should have the following education, skills and abilities: First Aid Certification, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, knowledge of A.S.L. is an asset, good problem solving ability, excellent communication skills, ability to work independently and as a part of a team.

Responsibilities include: Having individuals with disabilities live in your home while providing them support in the community, including promoting educational, vocational, cultural, spiritual and recreational opportunities.

Successful applicants will be subject to Criminal Record, Child Abuse Registry Checks, and Prior Contact Checks.
