Opikihiwawin
Opikihiwawin provides cross-cultural
education and supports for non-Aboriginal
families who have adopted or fostered
Aboriginal children. Programs are offered
to adult Aboriginal adoptees.
The Opikihiwawin Coordinating Committee
provides governance and determines the
direction and focus of programs and is
comprised of adoptive/foster parents, adult
Aboriginal adoptees, Aboriginal community
members and the Project Coordinator.
Opikihiwawin is sponsored by New Directions for
Children, Youth, Adults and Families.
