JobSolution helps young adults ages 18-29 from all walks of life to become productive in the work-force.
At JobSolution, we:
We start with personal job counselling to see how job-ready you are, and what you think you need to find a job you would be good at and able to keep. Our counselling helps you identify what may stop you from getting a job, as well as identify your strengths and skills:
When you’re job-ready, we can help connect you with employers, and we provide tools to help you complete your own successful job search:
We can help support you in coping with issues that may be keeping you from a job.
We help in many ways – helping you move to a stable place, doctors’ appointments, connecting you to community resources.
Most JobSolution participants find and maintain a job through our program.
We also believe success is in life is more than having a job (although that is pretty important!)
We think a good life includes:
Your life can change: JobSolution can be there for you as you deal with ongoing challenges in life. Our participants are always welcome to come in for a cup of coffee, to update a resume, to get job leads, and to talk to someone about what’s happening in your life.
The Canadian economy is in a time of transition. Younger job-seekers report that they are finding it harder to get a job. Employers have a wider pool of workers to choose from, and today’s job-seekers need a competitive edge to succeed in the labour force.
The Conference Board of Canada’s Employability Skills 2000+ identifies critical employability skills as:
Fundamental Employment Skills:
Communicating clearly, managing information, thinking about and solving problems.
Teamwork Skills:
Working with others, able to participate in projects and tasks.
Personal Management Skills:
Able to demonstrate positive attitudes and behaviours, be responsible, be adaptable, learn continuously, and work safely.
JobSolution, is designed to meet the needs of young adults by providing them with skills that can lead to paid employment. Young adults with multiple barriers, including those with intellectual disabilities who are currently eiligible for day services funding, may also qualify for this program.
