Resources for Adolescent Parents
Resources for Adolescent Parents is a program that offers young women who are pregnant or have children the support they need to keep going to school. Program Objective(s):
To provide pregnant or parenting teens (under 18):
- with an off campus Gordon Bell high school program called “Just Learning”
- with a life skills program with a program that will provide them with the support they need to keep going to school
Service Philosophy
- To provide a smaller classroom where students can work at their own pace, receive individual support while working on high school credits.
- To offer counselling services, support during pregnancy, information on nutrition, information on parenting, art classes, Aboriginal studies, sewing classes and a variety of speakers.
- To offer support in preparing to turn eighteen and/or in planning and preparing for future school and employment goals.
Referrals
Resources for Adolescent Parents ( RAP) accepts self referrals and professional referrals.
